University of California San Diego (UCSD)

UCSD UCSD is home to approximately 18,667 undergraduate, graduate and medical students.  Founded in the late 1950s, UCSD is part of California's University of California system.  UCSD has a multitude of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorial programs in the sciences, medicine, engineering, and liberal arts.  UCSD is home to the world famous Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

 San Diego State University (SDSU)

San Diego State University SDSU is home to approximately 28,000 undergraduate and graduate students.  Founded in 1897, SDSU is part of the California State College system, and offers a variety of programs in business administration, education, engineering, liberal arts, nursing, and science.  Degrees are offered at the bachelor's, master's, and doctorate levels.  SDSU just completed the brand new Cox Arena, a state of the art college sports arena.  (sorry no ice capability)

USD USD is home to approximately 8,000 undergraduate, graduate, and law students.  Founded in 1949, USD is an independent, Roman Catholic university that was started by the Society of the Sacred Heart and the Diocese of San Diego.  USD has five academic divisions: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the Philip Y. Hahn School of Nursing, and the School of Law, offering programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctorial levels.

Point Loma Nazarene Point Loma Nazarene University is home to  2,500 students.   Founded in 1902 in Pasadena, Point Loma Nazarene University moved to San Diego in 1973.  Point Loma Nazarene University is a liberal arts institution sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene.  It offers undergraduate, graduate, and teaching credential programs.

CSU San Marcos
California State University, San Marcos is the newest university in the San Diego area and is home to over 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students.   Founded in 1989, it is the 20th campus in the California State University system and is located in North San Diego County.  Currently programs are offered in business, education, liberal arts and science.
