15 Minutes of Fame!
Here page you will learn about several of our television media appearances. We
have been featured on both local and national programs!
- April 2001 - For the second year in a row, the senior team's long program was shown on Lifetime Television's
airing of the U.S. National Championships.
- November 2000 - The senior team performed on a local
television station for the Horton Plaza Christmas tree lighting. This west coast tree
ceremony was aired right before the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas
tree.
- May 2000 - Senior skater, Katie (now retired), was
chosen to appear in a telethon which was sponsored and filmed by San Diego's
Channel 10 benefiting Children's Hospital.
- December 1999 - Team del Sol Senior
appeared on San Diego's Channel 7/39 in several 3 minute news segments to
promote the San Diego Ice Arena's Annual Christmas Show. They even performed a
"program" with the newscaster!
- December 1998 - A press conference was held by the teams to present Children's Hospital with
the money the club earned while hosting the 1998 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. The team
members also received certificates from the California Senate in honor of the first Pacific Coast synchronized skating
international appointment. All of the local news stations were in attendance.
- Our senior Team del Sol performed in the
1998 holiday season television special of "Snowden on Ice II" starring Scott
Hamilton, Ekaterina Gordeeva, Josee Chouinard and Kurt Browning. They were cast
as "Rockettes" with Josee and filmed in July in Los Angeles. The show aired on
